This page explains how ordering, delivery, cancellations and returns work when you buy from The Alchemist through this website. It sits alongside your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which are not affected.
Ordering and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling (£) and are shown on each product page.
- Where a "Buy now" button is shown, it takes you to a secure payment page provided by PayPal. We never see or store your card details.
- Some products are available by enquiry only. Use the "Enquire to order" button or contact us and we will confirm availability and arrange payment with you.
- Your order is confirmed when we send you a confirmation email. If we cannot supply an item, we will tell you promptly and refund anything you have paid.
Delivery
- We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only.
- A flat-rate UK delivery charge applies. It is stated on the product page and included in the total you pay on the payment page.
- We will email you to confirm your delivery address after payment, so please make sure the email address you use is correct.
- We aim to dispatch orders within a few working days. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. We will tell you if there is a delay.
- Large or heavy items, such as geodes and crystals, may need different delivery arrangements. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
Your right to cancel
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you receive the goods (or the last item, if your order arrives in separate deliveries).
To cancel, tell us clearly by email at info@thealchemist-uk.com, or by post to The Alchemist, Newpark Gardens, EH23 4XJ, giving your name, order details and the date you received the goods.
Returning goods
- After telling us you wish to cancel, send the goods back within 14 days.
- You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless they are faulty or not as described. Please use a tracked service, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us.
- Goods should be unused and in their original packaging where possible.
- We will refund the price you paid, including the standard delivery charge, within 14 days of receiving the goods back (or of receiving proof that you have sent them), whichever is earlier. Refunds go to the original payment method.
Items that cannot be returned
For health and hygiene reasons, you cannot cancel and return sealed products once they have been opened. This includes lip balm, soap, oils, sun care and other skin-care or ingestible items. Food and drink items, such as cacao and matcha, cannot be returned once opened.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If an item arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photos. You may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something is damaged in transit, please keep the packaging.
